PGT Sliding Glass & Patio Doors in Miami Beach: What to Know First

We repair, replace, and service PGT sliding glass and patio doors across Miami Beach as an independent PGT service provider. Most PGT slider repairs are completed in a single visit, and if the door frame is sound, a roller, lock, or track fix usually runs between $180 and $480. If the glass or the full panel needs replacing, you’re looking at more, and we’ll put the exact number on paper before we touch the door.

Call (386) 406-9359

If you own a PGT slider that’s dragging, leaking, or locking up, this page tells you what’s going on inside the door and what it takes to make it right. TruePane Windows & Doors has worked on PGT products in Miami Beach for years, and we can usually get a technician to your door within a day or two. Call (386) 406-9359 and a live person answers.

How PGT Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

PGT builds a solid door, but every sliding product lives in the same salt-heavy, high-humidity air you do. After a decade or two, specific things go wrong. Here are the ones we see most on PGT sliders in Miami Beach.

  • Stainless rollers seizing on the 5500 and 7700 Series. The original rollers are usually stainless or zinc housed, but after enough salt exposure the bearing races corrode and the wheel stops turning. The door still slides, but it drags, and the bottom track wears unevenly. We replace the roller assemblies, re-set the panel height, and the door rolls like it should.
  • Bottom rails holding water on Coastal Series sills. Miami Beach rain and salt spray can leave the sill track holding a film of water. If the drainage weeps get blocked with sand, salt, or accumulated debris, the standing water works its way up into the roller channel. We clean the weeps, caulk the exterior sill with the right marine-grade sealant, and clear the drainage path rather than just wiping it down and moving on.
  • Misaligned locking pins on WinGuard sliders. PGT impact doors carry laminated glass, and the panels are heavy. If the door frame shifts even a quarter inch over time, the lock pin doesn’t seat cleanly into the keeper. Homeowners see a lock that “works” but never quite clicks. We adjust the panel, true the keeper alignment, and test the lock from both sides before we call it done.
  • Delaminated glass seals on older PGT insulated units. We see this most often on doors installed in the early and mid-2000s. The edge seals fail, moisture gets between the panes, and the glass clouds. Cleaning doesn’t fix it; the insulated glass unit needs replacement. We measure twice, order the correct glass thickness and tint from a PGT-compatible supplier, and reset the panel using the original cutouts.
  • Worn top-track guides on Eze-Breeze or similar multi-panel PGT patio doors. The top guides are plastic or nylon, and after years of operation they wear down and cause a panel to bind or droop. We replace the guides, re-align the panel stack, and lubricate the lower rollers and track. It’s usually a two-hour job, never a full door replacement.

Our PGT Sliding Glass & Patio Doors Process

When we take on a PGT slider, we work from a process Dale Kessler set up years ago, back when he was still measuring openings across the Normandy Isles. It’s the same process today.

  1. 1
You call (386) 406-9359. A person answers, asks what the door is doing, and schedules a visit.
  2. 2
We measure and test. Your technician checks the track, rollers, frame, lock, and glazing. We measure the opening and the panel, not just the visible symptom.
  3. 3
We put the fix on paper. You get a written line-item quote showing what’s wrong, what we’ll do, and what it costs. We also walk you through any repair-vs-replace decision if the glass or frame is damaged.
  4. 4
We decide on parts together. If a part can be had as an OEM or a quality aftermarket match, we tell you the difference in price and durability, and you choose. No surprise parts on the invoice.
  5. 5
The repair happens in one visit. Most PGT slider fixes are completed same visit. We clean up after ourselves.
  6. 6
We test and document. The door gets cycled open and closed, locked and unlocked, and checked for drag, leaks, and proper sealing. We write up what was done, register the warranty coverage if applicable, and hand you the paperwork.

If the pane is not true, the job is not done. We leave when it’s right.

What PGT Sliding Glass & Patio Doors Costs in Miami Beach

Here’s what we’ve charged on recent PGT slider jobs around Miami Beach. Your door may be different, but these numbers give you a realistic range.

Job Typical Range
Replace both slider rollers on a PGT 5500/7700 $180-$320
Realign panel and adjust lock/keeper $140-$260
Clear blocked sill weeps and reseal exterior $160-$280
Replace torn or worn weather stripping $120-$220
Replace insulated glass unit on a PGT slider $450-$950 depending on size and tint
Full PGT slider replacement (standard opening) $2,400-$5,500 installed

What moves the price: panel size, impact vs non-impact glass, frame damage, and whether the original installer set the opening correctly. We charge a fixed quote, not time and materials. Call (386) 406-9359 for a free estimate and we’ll give you an exact number, in writing, before work begins.

Why Miami Beach Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for PGT Work

We’re not the cheapest company bidding PGT repairs in Miami Beach. We’re the one that shows up when we say we will, carries the right parts, and writes down exactly what we did. Every job comes with our Done Right Promise and The Keystone Standard: both warranty layers registered in writing, durations stated, and no arguing if something didn’t hold up.

TruePane has been serving this community since 2008. We also install and service CGI, CWS, ES Windows, and ECO Window Systems, so if your PGT door isn’t worth saving, we can show you what a comparable impact door from another line would cost, side by side on paper. That’s the only way to buy something like this.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★

"Sliding door had been dragging for years. They quoted a repair first, said the track was shot, then priced the replacement both ways on paper. No pressure either direction. Door glides with one finger now."

CCarol M.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★

"Quote was the price, which after three other bids that grew legs was worth something. Double-hungs went in clean, they hauled the old ones, and the registration paperwork for the warranty came in the mail like they said."
